The Royalettes were established in 1991 to encourage the sport of Baton Twirling and provide displays at Gala Days, Coffee Mornings and Fetes.

The main aim of each class is that you get together with people of the same interest, have loads of fun and learning something new.

In 1997 the Royalettes took their first steps into the world of friendly competitions.   Competitions are held throughout the year at various locations, consisting of various ages groups and classifications levels – these are completely voluntary, no-one is forced to compete unless they wish to do so.  The Royalettes are affiliated to UKA, BBTSA and SFBT.

To date, the Royalettes have won over 2,300 individual medals, 157 Overall Champions and 127 Team trophies.

Examinations range from beginner to advanced level and are completed twice a year, all athletes are encouraged to take examinations to develop and increase their skills and technical ability.  If an examination is successfully achieved an award and certificate is awarded by the UKA Examining Board.

As you can appreciate costumes and equipment are expensive.  In February 2006 ‘The Royalettes Fund Raising Committee’ was established to help us raise funds.  The committee consists of parents of athletes who are willing to give up their own time to help us, which is very much appreciated.  Past fund raising events include - Sponsored Walk, Disco, Race Night and Bonus Ball.  Every little helps!!
